Expanded and Updated

The Print Council Index to Oeuvre-Catalogues of Prints by European and American Artists has been a mainstay of research in the field of works on paper since its initial publication in 1983. It contains bibliographic entries of artists’ catalogues raisonnés, which are publications with comprehensive listings of all known works by an artist, or a clearly defined selection, such as all works in one media. The online edition of the Print Council of America’s essential reference index, launched in 2000, is continually expanded and updated. It now contains entries for drawings and photographs by European and American artists, print publishers, and prints and photographs by Japanese artists. To reflect the index’s growing scope, the online edition was renamed The Print Council Index to Catalogues Raisonnés of Works on Paper in 2023.

The online edition is published with major support from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation in cooperation with the International Fine Print Dealers Association. An earlier version was made possible with major support from the Dave and Reba Williams Foundation, Alan and Suzanne Dworsky, Dorothy Edinburg, Sam Josefowitz, Christie’s, and Sotheby’s.
